I'm not positive on exactly WHAT it is... but when I go to a certain area like Wizard's Folly I get horrible lag. And it isn't video lag because I can rotate the camera and turn in circles all I like and it is silky smooth. However, when I walk at all it likes to stutter and glitch. I know that the samething happened to me in Kinya Province in Factions. Now what I am wondering is WHY this is happening. Is the game updating things while I am playing? Will the "-image" command switch fix things? Looking for some ideas.

Image may help a lot. Also try defragmenting your GW.dat file. Here is the tool to do that:

That could also help. Lag will be high in certain areas though, I get bad bad lag in Kaineng center all the time, can't figure out why. Sometimes a port or routing issue might be the issue. If that is the case, sry to say, your screwed.
